7 months?!

Hi everyone!

This week was awesome! I just hit my 7 months mark! Trust me I am not trunky haha. (trunky means that you are excited to go home and already packed your trunk)

I got to go to the temple with the Laotian recent convert that I have been teaching her since I came to Lakeview area. I wasn't the one who baptized her but she asked me if I could go to the temple with her for her first time. I got permission from President so I got to go with her! She had a great time there and wants to come back again. She loves the temple and loves to perform ordinance for her family. I would encourage everyone to go to the temple nearby at least once a month. There are so many great things that you can do there and it is so peaceful to be in the temple when the world is going crazy.

I got to go on a mini exchange with my sister training leader in cougar mountain again last Wednesday. The weather was really nice outside so we tried to do "tracting for service" it went well...... she picked a really rich neighborhood that everyone has someone to come do their yard and clean their house haha. so we went to the more humble part of the area and we tracted into a member that hasn't been to church for awhile. We didn't know that she was a member until we saw a book on her table that was one of the president's teaching. It went well and she gave us cheesecake!

Women conference last week was really great! I left my note in the apartment so I don't remember anything specially to write about. I usually reread general conference before I watch it and someone quoted from President Monson said "You can't direct the wind but you can adjust the sail." I really like this quote because I obviously can't control other people's agency but I can do my best to help them come closer to our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Transfer 5 Week 3

Hello!

This week went by faster than last week but thanks goodness that nothing crazy like last week happened. Random thing, We found a wing place, it is call Wingdome! During happy hour 2-3pm 1 pound of wings only cost $4 instead of $9.99 so Sister Anderson and I decided to make it as a tradition of this transfer so we will go get wings every Monday at 2pm!

I found a random way to cope with stress besides eating, which is watching the washing machine runs. it was interesting haha. My companion actually took a picture of me watching the machine for like 5 mins.

We had 3 awesome object lessons that help people understand more about baptism, sacrament and blessing that they will receive when they make a covenant with God. We got to use all 3 of them with Likit and it was awesome! So when we were born we were as pure as the water but as we continue to grow we make mistakes and those are sins. So we dropped some soda into the water to make it changed color (people usually use food color but we didn't have any so we use soda instead). But when we get baptized, we are cleansed from our sins so we put bleach in the water and it made the color changed back to normal! it was a great object lesson that we got to teach Likit and the little girl in our ward who is turning eight in April.

We got to celebrated St. Patrick's day by buying Shamrock shakes at McDonald's. I obviously do not have any Irish blood and Sister Anderson has like 1% Irish on her side haha. it was fun.

For some reason, our zone got to hang out again so we went mini golfing and got DQ after it. It was really fun. The weather is really nice and it was sunny outside when I checked it. I got so excited so I decided to put on some sunscreen. The sun decided to come out for 3 seconds Thanks Seattle.

Funny stories! Yesterday we went tracting in the really nice neighborhood. Sister Anderson did her normal knock, the guy answered the door and said "come on guy, don't knock like you know me" We were like errr sorry sir. We were laughing so hard.

We were trying to teach a guy on a door step but his dog wouldn't stop barking. When we left the apartment complex. He stuck his head out of the window and started baking at us again!

Have a great week!

The Craziest Week

Hi everyone!

How are you doing? Last week was crazy!

Monday - We had zone sports day and we play volleyball and chair soccer. Everything went well until one of the sisters got hit by the ball on her left cheek.. it hit her pretty hard that she still has a headache.
Tuesday - We went to do service at Bee's house with Redmond Spanish elders. I got to eat red pepper... it was a painful experience. I actually have a video of me and the other elder eating it if anyone wants to see haha. Sister Anderson got sick so we had to stay in our apartment.
Wednesday - We went on exchange with our sister training leaders. During companion study...they got a call from President Schofield. One of them got emergency transfer out to Burien so I got to drive there with them. I actually got to see my trainer, sister Olson! It was a fun experience.
Thursday - We accidentally switched our area books so we had to meet at the mission office to switch them back.
Friday - our investigator that suppose to be baptized next week decided that he was not ready for it.. it was rough. I got a priesthood blessing for comfort. I knew that I wouldn't be able to handle this alone. I'm so grateful for the restored gospel that brought back the authority to act in God's name. On the way home, I listened to the same songs for almost 20 mins. It was "I am here" here is a link https://www.lds.org/media-library/video/2015-10-0200-i-am-here-bonner-family?lang=eng
Saturday - We had a blitz in our area and volleyball in our building!

Sister Christensen, the middle one, got emergency transfer out

we got Papa John last Saturday.... the worker looked at our tags and decided to put Jesus Christ's name for the order haha

What happened this week?

Hey everyone!

This week was crazy! We had to go to the doctor appointment in Issaquah for sister Anderson so it was like 20+ mins away. The doctor told her that she needed to buy some tennis ball or something for her back because she has muscle spasm, The way she described it just sounded super painful so yeah. My GPS took us to Big5 in Redmond and it was closed (like closed down business) so we went to the other one in Totem Lake .... and it was closed also. AHHHHHHHH We decided that we will just go to FredMeyer and pray that they will have it. And yes, they had it haha.

So Wednesday, We went to do service at Bee's house again. it was so much fun rolling stuff and making Thai dessert. At first, Kirkland Spanish sisters wanted to come with us but because Bee is in Willows ward so elders got to come with us instead... We are slowly transfer Bee and Likit back into Willows ward (the ward that they actually belong to) But we know that it won't be easy for elders to connect with Likit so we just start having them at Bee's house every week and possible in some of the lessons...but I usually teach him in Thai... so we will see how it goes.

On Friday, We supposed to have lesson with Remington but the Totem Lake sisters wanted me to go help translating stuff for Sam (the Laotian recent convert) so we had a mini exchange that I went to help Sam and the other sisters (they are in trio) went to teach Remington. Everything went well!

Anyway, I'm still survive and enjoy the mission. Hope everyone have a great week!
I don't have a lot of pictures for this week..opps!

Last day of my 4th Transfer

Hellllllo!

Guess what! Sister Anderson and I are both staying in this area. I had dream that I will stay in this area for 6 months... maybe that dream will come true. I just hit my 6 months mark last Thursday. Whoa...I can't say that I am a baby missionary anymore.

This week was a great week! We did a lot of tracting, knocking houses, and contacting, talking to people on the street. It was super awesome. Our teaching pool now is getting bigger! our mission has a goal that we will get 200 baptisms in July 1 and I know that we can do it! I'm so pumped right now.

Good news! Likit came to church........ whatttt! (bee's husband) he is so ready to be baptized, only 2 more times and he will be qualified to get baptize. He basically taught himself for most of the lessons.... Heavenly Father truly prepared people for us, all we need to do is to find that people!

This transfer I took my good friend's advice and study in Acts. Paul is my favorite apostle right now. There were so many times that he was beaten and almost got killed but he rejoice.... whattt? he rejoiced? The reason was because he was able to testify in Jesus Christ that he lived and died for us and he lives! In Acts 20: 24
"But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God."

Love you all!

Last Week of transfer 4

Hello!

This week is the last week of this transfer which means that the transfer is coming up! ewwwwww.... I think I will stay here another transfer but you never know. President Schofield doesn't have a pattern of how he transfer missionaries so we will see. I'm excited for that. I misunderstood that we will have 12 sisters coming but we only have 3 or 4 coming this transfer.

We had zone conference last Tuesday on Valentine's day so we got to celebrate it with other missionaries. It was super fun and spiritual. We were focusing on having faith on finding. Sometime when people keep slamming the door in our face, it could be depressing but we know that there will be someone that ready to here the gospel. We might have to knock hundreds of doors to find that one person but I think it is worth to do. We also start going back to downtown Kirkland to do contacting and it was great! We had a lot of great conversation with people there.

We also had member missionary fireside last Sunday at Redmond Stake Center. Two converts bore their testimonies and told us their story. One of them was Jehovah Witness and he was abandon by his family when they found out that he has a book of Mormon. His testimony is so strong that he decided to stand strong of what he believe and decided to get baptized.

I'm running out of time again! Love you all <3

Heart Attack?

Hi everyone!

I have a hard time choosing my topic for this email again haha so I spent like 5 mins trying to decide what it should be. Anyway, this week was great! it didn't really snow this week because it wasn't cold enough for the snow so it rain instead, like soaky snowflake... does it make sense?

We went to do service again at the park, this time we were digging river! It was super fun. I love zone service, it is a great opportunity to work out. We also went to do service at Bee's house again, making Thai desert. We committed one of our investigators to live the Word of Wisdom. We walked out with hundreds of tea. It was awesome!

We also had a Persian food yesterday with the family that we were teaching.
Nothing much really going on this week except the fact that next week will be the last week of this transfer. This is crazy! Time flew by!

Oh we also did heart attack to some of our members, it was great! Can't wait to see their reaction when they see the door haha.

We went to see the Chiropractic because my companion hurt her back. It was really interesting. He pop my back for free and it was weird when he did it haha.
