Weekly Update July 17!

Hi everyone!

Last week we had zone interview which meant that we got to meet with President and sister Schofield in private and talked about something that we want to talk. This time they decided to do training also. We haven't done this since my first transfer. President Gates gave a training about Obedience. When we obey God's commandments, we expect blessing to follow. But by obeying every commandment doesn't mean that we won't face any trail but we will be able to find joy and recognize the hand of the Lord in the trail that we face. In D&C 82:10 "I, the Lord, am bound when ye do what I say, but when ye do not what I say, ye have no promise." #burn. The Lord promises us that blessing will come as we follow his commandments. Sometimes when we face trail, we forget that by doing little things like pray, read scripture and go to church will help us. Remember that the Lord gave us commandments because he knows that they will help us and lift us up in the time of need. There are countless time these things help me in the mission when I felt like I couldn't go further.

Whoooooh! Are we all spiritually fed now? If not, reread the paragraph above this again haha.

Have a great week!

Hi!

We got to march in the parade on the 4th of July! We represented the pioneers and had hand carts with us. We didn't get to pull the cart. All we did is just walking and wave.. smile! the sister missionaries are here! The funny part was it was so easy to know who was the member or who wasn't because you would here them yell "Go Sisters! or CTR" haha.

We also got to celebrated the fourth with the Jensen family. They invited us to eat breakfast and dinner with them. We had dinner with them the next day also because no one signed up to have us over. Then we had a lesson with our investigator and brother Jensen came to the lesson. The next day we had a meeting with him because he is the Ward mission leader. That was pretty funny how often we get to meet with him.

Have a great week!

Transfer 8th!

Hellllllo!

I almost forgot to send out the weekly email. Sister Conklin and I didn't get transfer which meant that we both are staying in Woodinville area. I've only been in this area for 3 weeks because of the emergency transfer but it will be her 4th transfer here in this area.
Our investigator came to church last Sunday with her two kids and she loves it! It was Fast and testimony meeting. The funny thing was we had 2 lessons on fasting both in Sunday school and Relief society.

For those who don't know what fasting is. Fasting is the commandment from the Lord, we humble ourselves before Him by voluntarily refraining from eating and drinking (usually two meals) We fast with purposes usually to help the poor and needy and also to ask for special blessings from the Lord. Fasting has never been easy for me because I get hangry all the time but when I really humble myself before the Lord, it became easier and I felt peace. I know that the Lord gave me strength when I pray for it. just like the scripture said in 3 Nephi 27 : 29 Therefore, ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you; for he that asketh, receiveth; and unto him that knocketh, it shall be opened. If we ask him in faith, believe that we will receive, then the Lord will give it to us.

Have a great week!

Woodinville is on FIRE!

Hello!

I'm in Woodinville area still! Transfer is next week so we will see if I will be staying or not. But Woodinville is on fire right now. We found solid investigators and they want to be baptized. What now? That is so crazy. Miracles are everywhere. We just need to have patience and trust in the Lord's will.

Samroauy got to speak at the fireside last Sunday. President Gates asked me if I could asked Sam to speak. The plan was she would speak in Thai or Laotian and I would translate for her. But..... she decided to speak in English instead haha. I was just standing next to her, smiling awkwardly. Thanks goodness, there were some part that she didn't know how to say in English so I had to translate it. No one really understood what she said so I had to recap everything. It was fun though haha.

Love you all!
Oh... in the picture, Sister Martin and I were at the mission office. We found tons of paper with quotes so we decided to decorate the door! It was a master piece haha.
My arm.... I was doing service at the farm for 2 hours and forget to wear sunscreen. So now I have a tan line from my watch haha.

Woodinville!

Hello!

The reason that I put Woodinville for the head of this email because I got emergency transferred! Both Sister Hall and I had to leave Halls Lake YSA and closed down the area because there were two sisters that went home and we need to fill their spots. There is no sisters in Shoreline zone now. It was so crazy! I am now in Bothell zone, Woodinville ward. This is my 4 zones, 5 areas haha. They shipped me around quite often here.  But I love it so much. This new ward was awesome. Sister Conklin is my new companion. She is from Idaho and will go home in 3 months, crazy hah. There are so many missionaries that are going home in this transfer and the next 2 transfers. I felt weird about it.

Well, Sister Hall and I got to go to Downtown Seattle last Monday with our sister training leaders. It was pretty fun. I got to go to Pike Place and it was like a flashback for me when I was there 9 months ago. Time flew by fast!

We had zone conference last Thursday. A couple missionaries and I got to perform a musical number, my kindness shall not depart from thee, it was super awesome and the fact that no one scream or run away. The main theme for this conference was about the Book of Mormon. I love this book so much and it helps me grow closer to my savior! I want to invite everyone to start reading it again and focus more on Jesus Christ this time, highlight his teaching and his name. And  I can promise you that you will grow even closer to him.

Have a super awesome week!

We got insulted by a parrot!

Hello!

Last week was an interesting week! We went to visit a potential YSA that we had. When we knocked on the door, we heard the voice "HELLO! WHO IS THAT!" and it kept repeating until someone answered the door.  It wasn't the person that we wanted to talk to. When they shut the door.. that voice laughed at us...yes laughed at us. The girl opened the door and said that it was a parrot!! Oh my goodness. Are you kidding me now haha.

We hit our officially 9 months tomorrow.  So we decided to take a picture like we are pregnant.
Nothing much going on this week but next week will be great!

Oh! I forgot to mention that our ward had retreat on Vashon Island and they also had church there. It is still in our mission but we couldn't go haha. So we went to the Edmonds ward instead and guess whom I met! The Christensens! They came because Brother Christensen's aunt was speaking. I was so so happy! Little tiny things happen everyday. I wrote down miracle that happens everyday so I can count my blessing and be grateful for things that happens no matter how bad the day can be.

Transfer 7 Week 3?

Hi everyone!

I lost count how many week I have been with sister Hall in the new area because I got emergency transfer into Halls Lake YSA and still covered Edmonds at that time and we are still together. They closed down Edmonds sister area so we got to move into that apartment. For me it was like moved back to where I was before. We closed downed Halls Lake apartment last Friday so that was fun. Luckily that we cleaned it super well when we left so we didn't have to do much besides moving furniture. We got help from our housing coordinators, Zone leaders and Edmonds elders. We thought that the Zone leaders will come with a truck but they came with a mini van... so it took them 3 trips to move everything out of the apartment. Good bye Halls Lake apt where there are tons of mole in that apartment haha.

On Saturday night, our long lost investigator texted us back and said that he wanted to come to church but he needed a ride. No problem, we can make it happen haha. We got a ride for him and it was a miracle because he was gone for like a month or so. On Sunday morning, he said that he couldn't come anymore. That was a bummer. God showed us miracles but at the same time it is their agency to choose also. He will not force anyone to do anything if they do not want to. Sometimes it is hard to admit that but I know that someday he will come and the gospel will soften his heart.

Love you all!
