Emergency Transfer?

Hi everyone!

Sister Martin and I have been emergency transferred because a Sister in the mission had to go home. She went to Totem lake ward in Kirkland stake, Redmond zone and I went to stay with the Halls Lake YSA sisters, Sister Hall and Stafford. We still cover two wards which are Edmonds and Halls Lake YSA. We were so busy last week but we only have one week left until next transfer so hope everything will settle down.  Susannah shared a scripture with me and I really like it so I would like to share this with you all. 1 Nephi 20:21 And they thirsted not; he led them through the deserts; he caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them; he clave the rock also and the waters gushed out.  The Lord will always provide for us like he did in the scripture. I know that everything happened for a reason whether we want it to happen or not. But we need to trust the Lord and do our best, and he will help us.

Being in the trio is like having a party 24/7 and I love it! It was so much fun because I served around sister Hall 2 transfers already and sister Stafford is pretty cool. The cool part of Halls Lake YSA is the ward covered two stakes which are Shoreline stake and Lynnwood stake. Lynnwood stake is not in my mission so technically we work for the Everett mission... and we also have elders from Everett mission in the ward. It is so weird now that I can go out of the mission because there are so many things that I can do now.

Have a great week!

LIKIT GOT BAPTIZED

Hello!

Likit just got baptized last Friday! I was asked to speak on the topic of the Holy Ghost in Thai. It went super great and the spirit was there at the baptism. I taught him Thai for four months and a half before I came to Edmonds and he agreed to be baptized again after I left. I was so glad that he chose this way because there is no other way to go back and live with our Heavenly Father again. It is not the end when we get baptized. The scripture taught us that we still need to "press forward (and) feasting upon the word of Christ." We still need to study scripture, come to church every week and pray often so that we can continue to learn and live in the gospel.

We went to do service at a member house on Thursday but this time the elders were in charge of the service. We asked them what pants should we wear because we didn't know what we were going to do. They told us to wear shorts since it will be a lot of digging, cutting and etc. So we did follow what they said. When we got there... they told us that we had to go into the blackberry bushes to cut down trees that were too tall for the Puget Sound view. Both me and sister Martin had a lot of scratches from the blackberry thorns (and the elders also). We learnt that when elders tell us to wear shorts, wear jeans!
zone conference!
the wilderness in the back of us was where we went to cut down trees
missionaries love Likit and Bee! because they always feed us lunch when we go do service at their house.
the bluest sky you've ever seen are in Seattle!
Hope everyone has a great week!

TEMPLE DAY!

Hi everyone!

Last week was super crazy busy and this week will be the same.... I made a note of things that happen last week because I always forget to mention something that I want to include in my email so this email will be a little longer than a usual one.

We went on exchange with our sister training leader in Ravena park ward, Seattle North area. It was so much fun because I got to go back to my old area! (I served in Seattle Young Single Adult ward that covered the Ravena part area) We went to UW and took the lightrail to capital hill to do contacting. It was like a flashback to my first and second transfers. Can't believe this is my 6th transfer already.

On Friday we had a zone meeting and they gave a training on pride and charity. The talk was "Be aware of Pride" by president Ezra. (available on LDS.org)
He gave 3 kinds of pride
1. Man VS. Man - When we look down to people or thinking that we are better than others
2. Man Vs. God  - when we put our will against god's will
3. Man Vs. Self - when we beat ourselves up and think low about ourselves.
The way to cure this pride is to have charity and love not just to people around us but to ourselves also.
Yesterday, we drove passed a guy that looked just like elder Galloway. Both of us had the same feeling that we should stop and talk to him. So we decided to turn around, park the car and start chasing him. He walked so fast that we had to run after him. so if you were just happen to drive pass us, there were two crazy sister missionaries chasing the guy that had no idea he was chased after. Unfortunately that he wasn't interested but on the way back we ran into our member that trying to decide if she wants to go on a mission or not. So we took her out knocking doors with us instead! If we didn't run after that guy, we would never ran into that member! Sometime we don't fully understand his plan but he has a plan for us and it works perfect if we follow him!

We got to go to the temple today and it was so beautiful! I am so grateful to have the temple in our mission!

IT HAS BEEN 8 MONTHS!

HELLO!

It has been 8 months since I came on a mission. This is so crazy. Seriously, time flew by so fast. People asked me what do I want to do after my mission.....I don't even want to think about it haha.

We had a new missionary training last week so we went there right after the district meeting. it usually took like 10 mins from Kirkland to Bellevue.. but now I'm in Edmonds so it took 40 mins to drive there. It was a fun road trip. During the meeting, it started to rain and then it hailed for 5 mins..... then the sun came out and looked like nothing just happened. Oh Washington. I love the weather here. It rains pretty much everyday and the weather is unpredictable. it can be super sunny out side and it will rain like 5 mins after that.

We went to do service at Westgate chapel last Thursday and the weather was super nice. Edmonds elders decided they wanted to visit someone nearby after service so they gave us their stuff to take back because we have a car but they don't. Elder Smith decided to left his rain jacket in the trunk since it was so sunny outside and you know..... two hours after, it was pouring rain and we drove to give him his jacket back. What did this story tell you? NEVER trust the weather in Washington haha.

I forgot to mention in my last email that the day of transfer The Christensen's boys gave us ummmm I don't know how to described it but it was super cool. They asked us what color do we like and made these for us.
There are the MTC, the plane, me and the Book of Mormon, and me and the temple. They are so adorable.
The Thai family that I taught last transfer.

Transfer 6 in SHORELINE ZONE

Hi everyone!

Right now I'm serving in Edmonds ward in Shoreline zone. I'm second transfer training Sister Martin. There are a lot of adjusting but so far so good! They didn't have a car last transfer but we got the car this transfer. I could say that I brought the car to the area, you're welcome haha. This ward is so great. They gave me a warm-welcome last Sunday. I'm so excited to work in this ward and we have so many people that we could start working with. Sister Martin came from Texas and she went to BYUI before she came on a mission. She is pretty awesome and I'm excited to work with her.

I met 2 Thai people in the first week that I got here. We tracted into a Thai guy and he was super nice even though he wasn't interested. He even invited us to eat dinner with him haha. The other one we actually talked to her husband and he randomly mentioned that his wife came from Thailand. We got a return appointment back with them and they were so excited to have us over next week! Whoohoo!

Our mission want us to do role play teaching with members so that we can sharpen our ace and ready to teach when we find someone to teach. We ask the husband who is non-member if we could role play(cross fingers) teaching him and he could give us feedback and he said yes! The funny thing was his wife was converted because her friend wanted to practice teaching her. Her friend came home for surgery and it was back when they had to memorize discussion. Well, hope the lesson will go well because he is so ready!

A non-member family want to feed us Persian food on Easter so we ended up had 2 dinners on Easter. It was great but I will never do two dinners again. I was so full haha.

Have a great week!

Last Week in Kirkland:(

Hi everyone!

Last week was AWESOME! The talk from elder Rasband about recognizing the spirit stuck in my head all week. Well, on Tuesday night sister Anderson had an allergy attacked so we decided to go in for language study. On the way home, I felt like we need to stop by the potential that we have from last month and see how she is doing. When we were there, her door was wide opened so we were like "errrr should we knock or no" but we felt like we were here for a reason and we decided to knock. Christy came out and talked to us. She is in the process of moving out so we offered her service. She broke down in tears.. She just had 2 emergency surgeries and the third one is coming up. She has no one to help her and the manager decided to kick her out since she is not qualified to live in the public apartment. Sometimes we may not know why we are doing this but we need to follow the prompting of the spirit.

We had a mini exchange again on Wednesday night but it was an overnight exchange. Sister Grow came to Lakeview and I went to Cougar mountain to stay with Sister Lumgair. It was fun! Sister Anderson didn't get to be with sister training leader the whole transfer this is why we were doing it.

We had a KZA again (Kirkland Zone Award) and I got an award for being awesome haha just kd. We all did 30 seconds videos "I am a Mormon" Sister Anderson was me and I was her in the videos.  We went to do service at Fred Meyer for Hopelink. We hand out tons of flyers about food drive. The ex-member came to talk to me. He said that "Your church tortured gay people and they teach that if you are righteous enough your skin can be white" I was cracking up. I was like "I am so sorry to hear that but I don't think what you said was right" He turned back and said "be careful, I'm dead serious." Oh my goodness, it was so funny. I can't believe he used to be a member...what church did he go to.. Anyway, that was a great time. People are so weird and I love it haha.

On Saturday night, we got a text that no area is getting whitewash this transfer. We were in bed, light were off, compliments were given and they called us. Thanks elders. I whitewashed in this area with sister Wilson and I will whitewash out of this area with sister Anderson. It was so sad leaving the ward. One of the people in ward council said that half of the ward will leave the church and start their own church. That was funny haha. Well, I'm going to Shoreline zone, back to the West side.

Me and Samrouey!
Have a great week!

Miracles in Lakeview!

Hola!

There were tons of miracles in Lakeview last week! First of all, we ran out of money... both of our money combined and we only had $12 left I know I know.. I should have known what I am doing since I'm in an accounting major. but this is not what I want everyone to focus about! Our members took us to COSTCO twice on the same week! We stopped by our member house during P-day time since she lives close by the fire station. by the way, we finally got to go on a tour at the fire station and it was awesome! Back to the story, she took us to Costco when she found out that we had nothing to eat... bless her heart. We would have to eat pasta and rice (and frozen stuff that we had) all week if she didn't take us to Costco haha. We also went to do service at a member house on Wednesday. We got to help her cleaned her kitchen and bathroom. Before we left, she needed to buy something at Costco and she took us with her! Now we have a lot of food to eat and we will probably don't have to go shopping for awhile.

More miracles! We ran out of mile.... We only have 0.6 mile left and we still had one day left. There were a lot of unplanned trips this month ex. doctor appointments, mini exchanges etc. but we won the number one car in the zone at the zone conference which mean that 1. our car is the cleanliness car in the zone 2. we get 100 more miles to use every month. MIRACLE!
Back to spiritual stuff. General conference was awesome. Our investigator came for Sunday afternoon session and the first three speakers were meant for him to listen. Elder Costa talked about his experience taking discussion with missionaries how he need to have a desire to change. My favorite one was from elder Renlund. He talked about how Savior replace fear with love and Savior saves us  FROM our sin not IN our sin.

Sorry, I'm running out of time again.
Have a great week!
